Dalam melakukan simulasi LAB menggunakan GNS3 atau yang lainnya, rekan-rekan sekalian sering menggunakan Virtual Mechine seperti Virtual PC, VMware, Virtual Box dll. Dimana hal ini dilakukan untuk mengakali harga hardware yang terbilang mahal dan boros tempat. Virtual Mechine sendiri telah membuat sejarah baru dalam dunia komputer, karena dalam satu komputer kita bisa menginstal lebih dari 1 system operasi dan dapat bejalan secara bersamaan. Selain itu kita bisa berpindah antar system operasi dengan sekali klik.

Pada postingan kali ini, saya akan mencoba penggunaan MS LoopBack pada simulasi GNS3. Tapi sebelumnya, apa itu MS Loopback (Loopback Adapter)? Loopback adapter adalah Virtual Network Adapter, dimana sistem yang bersifat standalone yang terkoneksi ke perangkat jaringan switch/router atau juga PC yang lain. Loopback adapter biasanya juga digunakan untuk menghubungkan antara sistem operasi yang sedang running dengan  sistem operasi yang ada di virtual mechine selain itu berguna untuk menginstall aplikasi-aplikasi yang mewajibkan Network dalam keadaan connected (IP up) salah satunya pada saat instalasi Active Directory pada Windows server.

Sebelum saya memberitahukan cara penggunaannya pada GNS3,  saya akan memberitahukan cara instalasinya pada Windows 7.

Nah, instalasi kita sudah selesai. Sekarang kita masuk ke simulasi GNS3. Adapun langkah-langkahny sbb.

Pada postingan kali ini saya akan mencoba berbagi cara konfigurasi MPLS menggunakan simulasi GNS3.

Hmmm… MPLS? Apa itu MPLS.

Menurut Wikipedia.

Multiprotocol Label Switching (disingkat menjadi MPLS) adalah teknologi penyampaian paket pada jaringan backbone berkecepatan tinggi. Asas kerjanya menggabungkan beberapa kelebihan dari sistem komunikasi circuit-switched dan packet-switched yang melahirkan teknologi yang lebih baik dari keduanya. Sebelumnya, paket-paket diteruskan dengan protokol routing seperti OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, atau EGP. Protokol routing berada pada lapisan network (ketiga) dalam sistem OSI, sedangkan MPLS berada di antara lapisan kedua dan ketiga.

Prinsip kerja MPLS ialah menggabungkan kecepatan switching pada layer 2 dengan kemampuan routing dan skalabilitas pada layer 3. Cara kerjanya adalah dengan menyelipkan label di antara header layer 2 dan layer 3 pada paket yang diteruskan. Label dihasilkan oleh Label-Switching Router dimana bertindak sebagai penghubung jaringan MPLS dengan jaringan luar. Label berisi informasi tujuan node selanjutnya kemana paket harus dikirim. Kemudian paket diteruskan ke node berikutnya, di node ini label paket akan dilepas dan diberi label yang baru yang berisi tujuan berikutnya. Paket-paket diteruskan dalam path yang disebut LSP (Label Switching Path).

Komponen MPLS:

• Label Switched Path (LSP): Merupakan jalur yang melalui satu atau serangkaian LSR dimana paket diteruskan oleh label swapping dari satu MPLS node ke MPLS node yang lain.
• Label Switching Router: MPLS node yang mampu meneruskan paket-paket layer-3
• MPLS Edge Node atau Label Edge Router (LER): MPLS node yang menghubungkan sebuah MPLS domain dengan node yang berada diluar MPLS domain
• MPLS Egress Node: MPLS node yang mengatur trafik saat meninggalkan MPLS domain
• MPLS ingress Node: MPLS node yang mengatur trafik saat akan memasuki MPLS domain
• MPLS label: merupakan label yang ditempatkan sebagai MPLS header
• MPLS node: node yang menjalankan MPLS. MPLS node ini sebagai control protokol yang akan meneruskan paket berdasarkan label.

Untuk perancangan kali ini saya akan mencoba untuk menggunakan router cisco seri 3700 sebagai router CE dan router seri 7200 sebagai router PE, dimana kedua router tersebut menggunakan IOS versi 12.4 yang sudah support untuk MPLS.

Adapun topologinya sebagai berikut.

Pada kasus diatas, saya akan mencoba untuk menghubungkan 2 costumer yang akan terhubung diantara 2 kota, yaitu antara JAkarta dan Jayapura.

Costumer I   = VPN_A dan VPN_B

Costumer II = VPN_X dan VPN_Y

Permasalahan di atas pun terdapat IP Prefix yang sama antara Costumer I dan Costumer II, akan tetapi penggunaan solusi MPLS dapat mengatasi dari persamaan IP pada costumer.

“Border Gateway Protocol disingkat BGP adalah inti dari protokol routing Internet. Protocol ini yang menjadi backbone dari jaringan Internet dunia. BGP adalah protokol routing inti dari Internet yg digunakan untuk melakukan pertukaran informasi routing antar jaringan. BGP dijelaskan dalam RFC 4271. RFC 4276 menjelaskan implementasi report pada BGP-4, RFC 4277 menjelaskan hasil ujicoba penggunaan BGP-4. Ia bekerja dengan cara memetakan sebuah tabel IP network yang menunjuk ke jaringan yg dapat dicapai antar Autonomous System (AS). Hal ini digambarkan sebagai sebuah protokol path vector. BGP tidak menggunakan metrik IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) tradisional, tapi membuat routing decision berdasarkan path, network policies, dan atau ruleset. BGP versi 4 masih digunakan hingga saat ini . BGP mendukung Class Inter-Domain Routing dan menggunakan route aggregation untuk mengurangi ukuran tabel routing. sejak tahun 1994, BGP-4 telah digunakan di Internet. semua versi dibawahnya sudah tidak digunakan. Policy-Based Routing adalah salah satu metode yang digunakan untuk mengatur flow network, atau dengan kata lain digunakan untuk mengatur alur data pada jaringan yang dirancang tanpa harus mengikuti Routing Table pada Router.

Agar flow jaringan yang dibuat tidak mengikuti Routing Table maka policy dari yang dirancang diletakkan/digenerate pada interface sebelum (inbound) data disalurkan pada jaringan router berikutnya yang akan dilalui (next hop router/next hop ip).

Pada perancangan kali ini, flow secara default tanpa menggunakan metode PBR maka jalur/flow dari network R2 ke BB1 akan secara langsung melewati R1-FR1-BB1. Pada gambar, garis putih menandakan flow jaringan secara default tanpa menggunakan metode PBR. Adapun gambarnya adalah sebagai berikut.

Dengan menggunakan metode PBR, kita akan mencoba untuk mengatur flow jaringan dari R2 ke jaringan BB1 melalui BB2 dimana konfigurasi dilakukan pada Router R1 yang berfungsi sebagai Router Boundaies antara router-router yang lain. Agar flow yang dibuat tidak mengikuti routing Protocol pada R1, maka policy dari route-map yang dibuat di generate pada interface inbound yaitu FastEthernet 0/0. Adapun gambar flownya adalah sebagai berikut.

Untuk verifikasi percobaannya dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan traceroute pada router R2 atau tracert pada Computer C1.

Sebelum menggunakan PBR.

Pada gambar diatas, dapat kita lihat bahwa tracert dari Computer C1 ke IP Loopback BB1 (3.3.3.3) melalui interface f0/0 R1 kemudian melalui frame relay lalu interface S0/0.1 BB1 (172.1.1.2) dan ini merupakan flow secara default.

Setelah menggunakan PBR

Setelah menggunakan metode PBR, dengan melaukan perintah traceroute pada Router R2 ke IP loopback BB1, maka flow melalui interface f0/0 R1 (192.168.1.1) kemudian frame relay lalu interface s0/0.2 BB2 (172.16.2.2) lalu interface s0/0.2 BB1 (10.1.1.1).

 Sabarlah wahai jiwaku, upaya hari ini memang bukan untuk kau tuai hari ini. Kau diciptakan untuk jadi orang besar, untuk menjadi penerang disekitarmu, karena sebagian cahaya ada dalam dirimu.

Tapi aku minta jangan terlalu lama, karena aku membutuhkanmu, temanku membutuhkanmu, orang-orang terkasihku membutuhkanmu.

 Mereka rindu dengan diriku yang telah kau buat menjadi hebat, menjadi besar, menjadi pemimpin atau pemberani yang sering mereka lihat selama ini.

Mereka ingin bertemu lagi dengan diriku yang telah kau buat menjadi penyemangat bagi orang lain, inspiraotr bagi kawan dan juga mentor bagi diriku sendiri dan orang terdekatku.

Tanpa basa-basi yang panjang, kali ini saya akan mencoba untuk membuat perancangan jaringan dengan menggunakan metode REDISTRIBUTE.

Redistribute? apa itu?
Secara garis besar, redistribution adalah metode routing protocol yang digunakan untuk menredestribusikan/meneruskan suatu routing protocol yang satu ke routing protocol yang lain agar dapat saling menukarkan/meng-advertise routing tablenya. Selain itu redistribution digunakan pula untuk meng-advertise semua IP yang terkoneksi didalam sebuah router baik pada IP interface fisik maupun loopback.

Pada prinsipnya router yang menjadi penghubung antara network dengan routing protocol yang berbeda akan menggunakan routing protocol sesuai dengan routing protocol yang dipergunakan oleh kedua network tersebut, misal interface F0/0 pada router tersebut berhubungan dengan network yang menggunakan EIGRP maka router tersebut harus menggunakan RIP dan pada F0/1 menggunakan OSPF maka router tersebut juga harus menggunakan OSPF sesuai dengan network tempat interface tersebut terhubung. Untuk membuat agar routing tabel yang dibentuk oleh EIGRP bisa diteruskan menuju ke OSPF maka dipergunakan redistribute RIP, dan sebaliknya agar routing tabel yang terbentuk pada OSPF bisa diteruskan menuju EIGRP maka dipergunakanlah redistribute OSPF. Disisi lain, dalam me-redistribusi suatu routing protocol ke routing protocol yang lain ada beberapa metric yang menjadi tolak ukur utama yang bisa di setting disaat meredistribusikan routing protocol tersebut.

Test ping untuk mengetahui koneksi pada tiap router, dimana test ping dilakukan pada VPC (Virtual PC) dengan mengetes ping dari tiap interface loopback router.
